IT Infrastructure Engineer
Full Time / 12 Months Fixed Term Contract
Central London/ Hybrid working pattern
Salary band: Dependent on experience
The role will be reporting into IT Manager. This role is based in the Bank’s City of London Office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working policy.
Role Profile
Primary job duties and responsibilities:
Oversight and Management
• Central point of contact for all IT logistics and issues, providing technical desktop support to users at 2nd level
• Supports and maintains core network, LAN’s and WAN’s and security infrastructure providing new on demand infrastructure solutions
• Champion of operational resilience
• Manages IT assets, licencing, and relevant suppliers
• Manages patching in compliance with cyber essentials standards
• Monitors and supports business continuity and disaster recovery
• Adheres to SYSC 8.1 & GDPR
• Maintenance of network diagrams, devices and tools and monitoring network usage.
• Line management and training of junior desktop Support engineer
• Embeds IT policies into network design
• Supports Audit Requests
• Supports technical project managers
• Oversees and embeds strong onboarding protocols and inter departmental coordination
• Lead external testing requests and documentary evidence
• Ensuring networks are protected from malware and viruses, identifying areas that might be under threat and areas where security can be improved
• Installing and maintaining firewalls, establishing, and maintaining company-wide access policies to the internet
• Maintaining the company’s phone system and working closely with the phone service provider to keep the lines active
• Dealing with bugs or system malfunctions.
• Day to day management of all 3rd party IT suppliers and contract expiry
• Management of the on-prem comms room, riser cabinets, IT equipment
• and systems that reside within the network.
• Maintaining a cyber essentials standard based IT asset register
• Maintaining a register of all licencing related to IT services, advising expiry in advance, and ensuring the service provider is renewing on time
• Managing the Joiner Mover and Leaver process, coordinating with key touch points within the organisation such as CTO, Operations, HR, line manager
• Assisting with IT process enhancement, documenting and cascading ongoing changes
• Ensuring all IT related changes follow the change management process and track adherence to policy
• Printer, Hardware, Software and Mobile Devices Support
• Key contact for closing IT audit findings and penetration test recommendations
Reporting and Control
• Periodic oversight and reporting of all metrics agreed in Operational and Service level agreements with service providers, producing security dashboards
• Performing analysis and collecting data to establish the potential for improvements within the communication network
• Assist with negotiating SLA and OLA’s with supplier, monitoring their execution
• Periodic performance management of agreed IT controls and reporting of results (Risk Control Self-Assessment)
• Maintaining system and folder access controls acting as a central hub for all changes
• Responsible for ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery plans are current
• Maintaining the IT risk register
• Coordinating with the Technical PMs to facilitate project completion

• Ideally experience of returning disaster recovery scenarios to BAU
• Excellent knowledge of software and hardware used in Banking
• Critical thinker who can offer creative solutions
• Competent trouble shooter who can document solutions
• Team worker with basic management skills
• Experience is setting up and managing business continuity protocols
• Fully conversant with RCSA and managing IT controls
• ISO27001 experience
• Cyber Essentials
• Desire to work in a charitable environment
